Company branding is the most efficient way to show potential customers what your business is about. It is reflected visually through the logo and company design elements as well as through verbiage in marketing materials, slogans and copy. The importance of branding your company can be the key to your success.
Your brand is your company’s face to the world. It is rooted in other people’s perceptions so it’s important to brand yourself effectively. Here are the key steps to remember when defining your brand:
1. What do you want to be known for?
2. Know what you are passionate about.
3. Be specific and focused.
4. Have 2-3 secondary areas of interest.
Really stop and think about those steps. Your brand should reflect something you could talk about for hours, something you’re passionate about. You would even be willing to do it for free you love it so much. You should also find it comes naturally and easily to you.
When you work with The Savvy Socialista, we can help you identify those key areas and put together a plan to make your brand stand out. We recognize the importance of branding your company and believe it can bring your business model together.
A specific and focused brand allows people to know who are you are and what you’re about within seconds of looking at your logo, website or Facebook page. It’s also important to have secondary interests because people like doing business with people – not businesses.
Take our weekly Fashion Friday posts on Facebook. We love fun and fashion along with our core business model and we share that with our friends and followers. Everyone really looks forward to those weekly posts! (We also enjoy them too!)
Once you have identified your brand, it’s important to amplify it. Make sure you are legitimizing your claims – saying you’re a web designer and you haven’t designed a single website isn’t good for your business or your brand. Also, make sure you connect and engage with your audience. Get on social media platforms! Don’t just post updates and walk away, reply to messages, see what your friends and partners are out there talking about too!
